North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrical shock? a) Cashiers site -- employees stated that they have received electrical shock when operating the compactor switch while standing in rain water which runs in front of the switch. "Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to direct the rain water away from the compactor switch location and provide the attendants a wooden platform on which to stand while they are operating the compactor switch."
