North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a damaged container of sodium hydrosulfite, a highly water reactive chemical: a)dye house, for the employees who work at and around the dye operations and who are exposed to the damaged container of the water reactive sodium hydrosulfite. Note: Feasible methods of abatement would include, but not be limited to, the following: 1)Have the 55 gallon drum of the chemical removed from the facility by a competent waste disposal company.
