Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employee(s) were exposed to the hazard of falling onto a moving conveyor: a)On April 30, 2002, employees were allowed to climb over the stair railing on the stair next to unscrambler conveyor in order to reach the conveyor and remove lodged wood/debris and they were not provided with fall protection. Among others, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to provide the employees with fall protection by the use of personal fall protection equipment.
