Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employee(s) were exposed to the hazard of fire and or explosions. a)Employees working in the reduction area by the reactors where exposed to fire and explosion when the polyvinyl chloride scrubber pipe that is connected with the harvest reactors contained flammable gases. Among others, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to use equipment that is designed and rated for such service in accordance with ANSI/ASME B31.3-1996 Edition Paragraph A 323.4.2.h
