General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish, to each of his employees, employment and a place of employment which is free from recognized hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees, in that access to the E-stop at Line #1 Canvas Conveyor was partially impeded. On or about May 22, 2002 an accident occurred where the operator of the sheeter/Canvas Conveyor/Calendar operation got caught in the Canvas Conveyor rollers. The E-Stop was discovered to be blocked at that time. A feasible form of abatement is to cut off the roller driver bolt so it no longer blocks the E-Stop. CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM.
