Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Waukegan Roofing Co. - 4724 W. Crystal Lake Rd. McHenry, Il. Jobsite - The hazard of being struck by a Garlock T-Beam hoist that was not equipped with an approved counterweight system. Among others, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to use approved counterweight materials specified by the hoist manufacturer. No abatement documentation required for this item.
