Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees as a result of unqualified workers during the improper installation of slide locks on a power press. Belvidere, IL. Jobsite: - Slide lock system installed on a mechanical power press was not installed correctly during its initial installation. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard is to follow the guidelines established by ANSI B11.1-6.8.1, 6.10, 8.7, ANSI B11.19-3.2 and NFPA 79-6.5 Testing documentation provided by employer.
