Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a. Jobsite located at 6801 West 73rd Street, Bedford Park, Illinois - On or about March 27, 2002, employee(s) working from a Snorkellift, extensible boom aerial lift, were exposed to injuries from falls due to the lack of personal fall protection devices as required by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI A92.5-1992) Standard for Boom Supported Elevated Work Platforms. Among feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A92.5-1992, Standard for Boom-Supported Elevating Work Platforms and have employees wear personal fall arrest equipment anytime that they are elevated in the aerial lift.
