General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational safety and Health Act of 1970: the employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a. On or about August 9, 2002, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing tuckpointing work from Genie S-40 and Genie S-45 self propelled extensible boom aerial lifts were exposed to injuries from falls due to the lack of personal fall arrest equipment. Among feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A92.5-1992, Standard for Boom Supported Elevated Platforms and have employees wear fall arrest equipment anytime that they are in the aerial lifts.
