switch of the
Cybelec DNC 7000 control panel and mode selector of the Pacific Press
Brake, for employee
use without employer supervision.
One feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to supervise
the Press Brake
stroking controls/operating modes as required by American National
Standards Institute (ANSI)
B11.3-1982 for Power Press Brakes - Safety Requirements for Construction,
Care, and Use,
Section 6.1.6.
b) Adams Elevator Equipment Company kept keys in the keyed selector switch
of
the Metal-
Tech Controls Corporation, System IV, Press Brake control and light
curtain interface.  The
employer was not able to prevent untrained and unauthorized personnel from
entering, modifying
or changing programs and ensure that only trained and authorized personnel
had access to the
functions.
One feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to follow the
manufacturer's
instructions and ensure that only trained and authorized personnel have
access to the functions
of the Press Brake control and light curtain interface device.
Abatement certification required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR
1903.19(c).
