Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Shop, West End - the Powermatic joiner, Serial Number 561293, Model Number 60 was equipped with an unprotected toggle type motor starter switch instead of a starter located, designed, constructed, interlocked or guarded to protect against unintended operation, as prescribed by the American National Standard for Woodworking Machinery, ANSI O1.1 - 1992, Section 4.4.1.2. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
