a)  On June 19, 2002 Rogina & Associates, Ltd. permitted employees engaged
in survey work
to be exposed to struck-by hazards from motor traffic while working in and
near the traveled
portions of Des Plaines River Road without posting advance warning signs
to alert approaching
motor traffic of survey crew work.  Among other feasible and acceptable
abatement methods to
correct this hazard include the proper placement of advance warning
signage and shadow
vehicles.  These abatement methods are discussed in detail in Part VI of
the Manual on Uniform
Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) 1988 Edition, Revision 3, 1993.
