Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that the employee
was exposed to a thrown from/fall hazard of 12 feet to grade:
(a)On or about October 24, 2002, at the south west corner of the
jobsite located at 5999 120th Avenue, Kenosha, WI, the employer
did not ensure that the employee doing caulking operations while
elevated in the JLG 600 AJ (boom-supported elevating work
platform), was not protected from a fall/thrown from hazard by the
use of a personal fall protection system among others, a feasible
means of abatement would be to comply with the American
National Standard Institute (ANSI) A92.5-1992 for Boom-
Supported Elevating Work Platforms which requires workers to
wear personal fall arrest equipment whenever in an aerial lift.
No certification required.  Violation Abated.on
