Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries from accidents involving lift trucks: Operators of the industrial lift trucks were not using the operator restraint systems on the lift trucks as necessary to prevent them from being thrown from the lift trucks. Among others, one feasible means of abatement of this condition is to require the use of the operator restraint devices on the lift trucks in accordance with ANSI B56.1 - 1993. No certification required. Violation Abated.on
