Minn. Stat. 182.653 subd.2 and ANSI B56.1 para.4.17.2(c): The employer did not furnish to each employee, conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards which caused or were likely to cause death or serious injury to employees, and 2(c): The employer did not ascertain that required restraining means such as railings, chains, cable, body belt(s) with lanyard(s), or deceleration devices, etc. were in place and properly used. Employees were not provided with a railing on all four sides of the work cage, and were not provided with any other restraining device when they were lifted to a height of 12 feet above the ground while bundling roof trusses on the truss stacking machine. Abatement Guidelines: Employees must be protected from falling by one of the following methods: guardrail systems; safety net systems; personal fall arrest systems; combination of warning line system and guardrail system; combination of warning line system and safety net system; combination of warning line system and personal fall arrest system; combination of warning line system and safety monitoring system.
