Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: a) 26th & Federal Streets, Philadelphia, PA - Employee(s) engaged in roof truss installation were exposed to the hazard of being struck/crushed by collapsing roof trusses due to inadequate bracing techniques. Observed on or about 07/09/03. ABATEMENT NOTE: AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE MEANS OF ABATEMENT TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO UTILIZE THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE TRUSS PLATE INSTITUTE HIB - 91, SUMMARY SHEET, FOR BRACING WOOD TRUSSES. NOTE: ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIREDATION
