North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to overhead hazards: a)facility- where employees were allowed to work in a building that had pieces of fire proofing panels fall from the ceiling on a daily basis. The fire proofing material has become saturated with water and it is estimated that the pieces weigh approximately 30 lbs. Abatement note: One feasible and acceptable method, among others, is to remove the fireproofing panels from the ceiling and install a suitable replacement material.
