North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Ref: USAS B30.5-1968 section 5-2.4.1 a)site - All running ropes in continuous service were not visually inspected once every working day. A thorough inspection of all ropes in use was not made at least once a month and a full written, dated, and signed report of rope condition kept on file where readily available. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is to have a competent individual available to conduct daily inspections on the crane.tions

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is have the crane operator take a examination on the specific equipment he will be operating.
