Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 05/03/02, in the machine shop, employees were using a Rigid electric pipe threader which was not provided with a constant pressure foot switch as required by American National Standard Institute B208.1-1982, Section 4.4. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is: Provide the pipe threader with a constant foot control switch in accordance with ANSI B208.1- 1982, Section 4.4. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
