Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards associated with truck over turn from operating the boom mounted on a truck without the outriggers being set. On or about 09/08/02 employees were exposed to the hazards of truck overturn and boom collapse due to operating a truck mounted boom without the outriggers being set. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to use the outriggers on the truck as required by the operator's manual. NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS CITATION.
