truss
system, since ground bracing, as a minimum, was not installed for the
stability
of the first truss.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE
ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THE HAZARD IS TO FOLLOW THE
GUIDANCE PROVIDED BY THE TRUSS PLATE INSTITUTE (HIB-91)
SUMMARY SHEET FRAME 2 WHICH INSTRUCTS THAT GROUND BRACING
IS REQUIRED FOR ALL INSTALLATIONS.
(b)The Winery at Eagle Knoll construction site, Eagle, Idaho - On December
24,
2002, employees were exposed to the potential hazard of a collapse of the
truss system, since continuous top chord temporary lateral bracing was not
installed over the bearing points of any trusses greater than 10 inches in
depth
at the bearing points.

ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THE HAZARD IS  TO FOLLOW THE
GUIDANCE PROVIDED BY THE TRUSS PLATE INSTITUTE (HIB-91)
SUMMARY SHEET FRAME 3 WHICH INSTRUCTS THAT A CONTINUOUS
TOP CHORD LATERAL BRACE BE INSTALLED OVER THE BEARING
POINTS OF ALL TRUSSES GREATER THAN 10 INCHES IN DEPTH AT THE
BEARING POINTS.
(c)The Winery at Eagle Knoll construction site, Eagle, Idaho - On December
24,2002, employees were exposed to the potential hazard of a collapse of
the
truss system, since the employer failed to install lateral braces that
would
prevent structural collapse of the truss system.  The braces installed only
spanned between two trusses and not 6 trusses as required by the truss
manufacturer.  In addition, the braces did not overlapp at least 2 trusses
per
brace.  The employer also failed to install two lateral braces at the apex
of the
truss placing one on each side of the apex.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE
ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THE HAZARD IS TO FOLLOW THE
GUIDANCE PROVIDED BY THE TRUSS PLATE INSTITUTE (HIB-91)
SUMMARY SHEET FRAME 3 WHICH INSTRUCTS THAT A TOTAL OF SIX
LATERAL BRACES WHICH SPAN SIX TRUSSES PER BRACE AND
OVERLAPPED BY TWO TRUSSES FOR ADDITIONAL LENGTH OF THE
LATERAL BRACE.  LATERAL BRACES ARE INSTALLED IN THIS MANNERTO PREVENT
STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE.
(d)The Winery at Eagle Knoll construction site, Eagle, Idaho - On December
24,
2002 employees were exposed to the potential hazard of a collapse of the
truss
system, since there was no top chord temporary diagonal bracing installed
to
prevent laterally braced top cords from buckling and collapsing.

bob, level or transit.
