Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a)Rich & Rich Hangar: On or about February 27, 2003 and at times prior thereto, employees used the Simple Saver Plus flexible fabric as a walking working surface and not in accordance with the manufacturers instructions, thereby exposing employees to an approximate 25 foot fall hazard to a concrete floor. AMONGST OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO UTILIZE THE SIMPLE SAVER/FINISHING SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE TO THE MANUFACTURERS GUIDELINES. Note: Abatement certification required for this item.
