Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The
employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were causing
or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees
were exposed to:

empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que puedan causar
muerto o dano fisico a los empleados por cuanto empleados estaban
expuestos a:
At the front of the New Social Sciences Building Project, at the
University of Puerto
Rico, Rio Piedras Campus: Where the employees were doing plastering tasks,
was
observed that an employee was lifted by a Sky Track trademark Terek (Model
Square
Shooter SS-1056C Turbo) to an approximate height of 40 feet in a cement
bucket
without the use of the appropriate attachment to lift personnel connected
to the Sky
Track and also the employee did not use any fall protection system to
prevent his fall.
Hazard: Falls.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is connect to the Sky track the appropriate attachment to lift the
personnel.
En el frente del Nuevo Edificio de Ciencias Sociales, en la Universidad de
Puerto
Rico, Recinto de Rio Piedras: Donde los empleados estaban realizando
trabajos de
empanetado, se observo que un empleado fue elevado por un "Sky Track"
marca Terek
(Modelo Square Shooter SS-1056C Turbo) a una altura aproximada de 40 pies
en un
recipiente de cemento sin usar el aditamento apropiado para elevar
personal conectado
al "Sky Track" y ademas el empleado no estaba utilizando ningun sistema de
proteccion contra caidas para prevenir su caida.
Riesgo: Caidas.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo apropiado y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es
conectarle al "Sky Track" el aditamento apropiado para elevar personal.
