Section 5(a)(1) of the occupational safety and health act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to possible failure of an inadequately erected tubular welded frame stair tower: Job Site: Stair tower. The tubular welded frame stair tower built 3 stories high was not braced to prevent it from tipping into the building. One method of abatement, among others, would be to brace the frames at appropriate intervals to prevent movement.
