Condition:Employees using Oakite Stripper Sa, a corrosive material, which
has a
pH of 1.5, were provided with a plumbed eyewash station that had only
a single hand held nozzle which did not provide continuous flushing to
both eyes.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard
is to provide an approved eyewash meeting ANSI Z358.1 which provides at
least 15 minutes
of continuous flushing to both eyes simultaneously.
Abatement documentation (photogrpts, copies of programs, training
certification,------------ etc.) is required for this item.
