Labor and Employment Article Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:12/11/02 Location:Granular Department Condition:The Guardian euipment eyewast station provided where employees worked with caustic soda, a corrosive material having a pH of 14, had unequal flushing streams, one was 4" high and the other was 6" high. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to adjust the water flow so that both flushing streams rise to approximately equal heights.
