T.C.A. 50-3-105(1): The employer did not furnish a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: The Employees at the Human Services - TN Rehabilitation Center in Union City were exposed to a hazard from the falling ceiling tiles, on the second story of the building in which they were housed. The second story is used for storage. There are several of the tiles missing from the ceiling and have, reportedly, been falling for some time. The tiles are designed of compressed fiber board. They measured 32 inches long, 16 inches wide, and three - eighths inches thick, and the ceiling height is sixteen feet.
