31-372-101 Section 31-370(a) of the Connecticut Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees who are exposed to working underneath elevated automobiles: Location: A)Auto Shop. 1)Employees engaged in the maintenance of automobiles were exposed to crushing hazards in that the automobile lifts were not being inspected according to manufacturers inspection/maintenance procedures. Feasible methods of abatement: Familiarize all employees on manufacturers operating instructions and maintenance guidelines including but not limited to: a)Training, information and site specific procedures for the operation, maintenance and inspection of the automobile lifts.bile
