North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)roof truss production area, operators of the MiTek Roof Glider were not provided with training per manufacturer's operator manual instructions. One feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to provide and ensure that the operators are thoroughly familiar with the instructions on operating the MiTek Roof Glider as provided in section II and III of the MiTek Industries, Inc. Roofglider Operating and Maintenance Manual. This instruction includes, but is not limited to: (1)inspecting the area around the machine prior to starting it; (2)testing the machine operations including the emergency safety bars and emergency stop controls (3)becoming familiar with the warnings, such as "Never operate the Roof glider without all guards in place and operational."
