AS 18.60.075(a)(4): An employer shall do everything necessary to protect the life, health and safety of employees including, but not limited to: furnishing to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards which, in the opinion of the commissioner, are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees. EXAMPLE: Employees were being elevated by the attachment forks on a lift truck (forklift) to drape a load. This lift truck was not equipped with a cage/platform meeting the requirements described in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers ASME/ANSI B56.1-1988, Section 4.17.
