North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) metal storage area -- periodic inspections were not being conducted on an overhead hoist and its' supporting structure. REFERENCE:ANSI B30.16-1981, Chapter 16-2.1, Inspecting, Paragraph 16-2.1.3, Periodic Inspection NOTE:Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to begin conducting periodic inspections on the overhead hoist as outlined in the above listed reference.s
