Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:

El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At AEE Technical Office in Arecibo, employees were searching for equipment
and tools in a
concrete structure called (casetas de brigadas). The ceiling was damage
and pieces of concrete
had felt and some plaster. The employees were exposed to the hazard to be
struck on the head.
A feasible and acceptable abatement method among others to correct the
hazards
can be:
Perform a Structural evaluation of the building called "Casetas de
Brigadas" and
plastering the ceiling and seal the roof.
En la Oficina Tecnica de Arecibo, los empleados buscan equipo y
herramientas en una estructura
de cemento, llamadas (casetas de brigada). El plafon estaba deteriorado.
Pedazos de concreto
y parte del empanetado han caido. Los empleados estan en riesgo de ser
golpeados en la cabeza.
Un metodo viable y aceptable de correccion entre otros metodos para
corregir los riesgos pueden
ser:
Realizar una evaluacion estructural del edificio conocido como "casetas de
Brigadas",
empanetar el plafon y sellar el techo.
