Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to an injury from an unintended actuation of a foot pedal not protected by a guard: (a)Stamper Department - The foot pedals on the stamping machines #1 and #2 did not have protection to prevent unintended operation from falling or moving objects or by accidental stepping onto the pedals, on or about July 28, 2004. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO GUARD THE FOOT PEDAL.
