Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the following condition(s): a) Employees were exposed to a recognized hazard of being struck by the butterfly wings of the" Trabant Amusement Ride" when assembling and disassembling this ride. One method that could be used to correct this is to read and follow A.S.T.M. standard practice for Maintenance Procedures for Amusement Rides and Devices, Rule 6.1-6.4.3, which is Owner/Operator's Responsibility. Another method of correction would be to read and follow "step 14 and 15" of the set up procedures set forth in the owners manual.
