Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: a) 263 Shepard Avenue, East Orange, NJ and on Collection Routes: Employer failed to affix warning labels and signs in appropriate locations on the container of the Front Loader Garbage Truck #60 so as to ensure employees would have notification of caught between and crushed by hazard areas and places where control of hazardous energy is necessary. "Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to affix warning labels in the appropriate locations as shown by the Maintenance and Parts Manual and ANSI Z245.1-1992 section 7.1.12.2.3." Violation observed on or about 01/20/03.
