Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazard: a) On the East side of the job site, an employee was standing on a fork of a forklift at a height of approximately 10 feet welding a canopy entrance. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the fall hazard would be to have the employee work from a man basket attached to the forks of the forklift, approved by the forklift manufacturer. In the Alternative 29 CFR 1926.602(c)(1)(vii): Unauthorized personnel were permitted to ride on powered industrial trucks. A safe place to ride was not provided where riding of trucks is authorized:
