SCRR 71-112A: Failed to furnish a place of employment which is free of
recognized hazards
which may cause death or serious physical harm to his employees and comply
with this
regulation and other occupational safety and health rules and regulations
promulgated under
Chapter 15 of Title 41, Code of Laws, State of South Carolina, 1976, as
amended, as
follows:
A.  Employer knew or should have known that employees who work in the
grinding area are
exposed to the hazard of fire and explosion as a result of spark producing
metals being
introduced to the grinder and coming into contact with Class Ii
combustible dust mixture of
polyethylene.  A feasible and useful method of correcting this hazard,
among other methods,
is to have the grinder interlocked to a magnetometer or a magnetic
separator.

follows:
A.  Employer knew or should have known that employees working in the
grinding area were
exposed to the hazard of fire and explosion as a result of Class II dust
mixture of
polyethylene being exposed to ignition sources such as, but not limited to
pallet jack, spark
producing tools, and mechanical equipment.  A feasible and useful method
of correcting this
hazard, among other methods, is to relocate the dust collectors outside of
the building.
