Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall related injuries: (a) Location - 182 Cambridge Street, Burlington, MA: On or about 06/24/03, employees were exposed to falls of up to 12 feet while working from the rails of the scissors lift. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable, to correct this hazard, include but are not limited to: a) Conduct training on the safe use of the scissors lift as per manufacturers operating instructions: b) Utilize operating instructions as specified by ANSI/SIA A92.6- 1990 for self propelled elevating work platforms.
