Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling: (a) Location - Library at 19 Crescent Street, Stow, MA: On or about 01/20/2004, employees were exposed to the hazard of falling from a ladder while lashing cables. Among other methods, feasible means of abatement would be to: 1. Thoroughly inspect attachment points for ladders and assess load capabilities. 2. Properly train employees on tie off points for fall protection equipment.
