Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:
The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from
recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious
physical harm to
employees in that: adequate and proper diagonal bracing was not installed
to hold the trusses up
as recommended by the manufacturer and HIB-91.
a. Location - 108 Myrtle Ridge Road, Lutz, FL.  On or about 12/13/2003
employees
were standing on the trusses without having adequate or proper bracing
installed on the
trusses, allowing the trusses to collapse.
AMONG OTHER METHODS ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE MEANS OF
ABATEMENT WOULD BE TO INSTALL 2X4 DIAGONAL BRACING WITH A MINIMUM
OF TWO 16D NAILS IN EACH BRACED TRUSS.
