Health Act of North
Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of
employment and a
place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or
likely to cause death or
serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to
unsafe chain hoists used
without the benefit of frequent and regular inspections; including, but
not limited to:
a)facility, quality control inspection station - locally manufactured
wall-mounted jib
crane made of 2-inch tube steel and a wooden shim bolted to a steel
support beam
was not designed to withstand the loads and forces imposed by a 1 Ton HS
Type
hand-operated chain block hoist.
