North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)establishment, cremation room, furnace - operators are exposed to1600 degree Fahrenheit gas generated flames when the Power Pak Junior Cremation Furnace, Serial number 014319, front door is opened because the safety switch which turns off the gas and secures the flame when the door opens is missing. "Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install the safety cut-off switch.
