Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falling load hazards: Two (2) CM Valustar overhead hoists I-beams located near the micro bin area were not properly marked with the maximum lifting weight of I-beam. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be have the load bearing I beams weight checked that is recommended by ANSI B30.16-1973, paraagraph 16-1.1.2.1(b), to determine that; the I- beams can carry 125 percent of the load. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is completed.
