Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a fall hazard: On or before 1/31/03 employees riding on the side step of an 1997 International truck, s/n 1HTSHAAR7VA475077 were exposed to a fall hazard due to the the truck being driven on a roadway. One feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to check vehicle before moving it, restrict employees from riding on steps, and check mirrors frquently while driving. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
