Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: On or before 6/30/03 at the company yard, employees operating concrete hopper trucks (moon- buggy) are exposed to crushed-by hazards when the equipment was operated without devices to prevent the operators from being thrown out during travel. One feasible and acceptable means of abatement is the installation and use of seat belts. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
