Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 07/11/03, in the food preparation area, an employee was exposed to the hazard of coming in contact with the rotating knife of the meat slicer. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is to provide all the necessary training to the employee for the safe operation of the slicer. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
