Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that an employee was exposed to a fall hazard for not attaching the lanyard to the lanyard attachment point on the lift aerial platform. "AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS": 1) Instruct each employee during initial training and safety meetings, to use the operator restraint system in accordance with the ANSI A92.5-1992, 8.8(g). 2) Conduct periodic monitoring inspections of aerial lift operators properly using the fall arrest system and correct deficiencies immediately.
