Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the rotating blade: (a) Tool Room, South Wall - the Enco-360 vertical bandsaw, Manufacturing Number 36668, was not equipped with a magnetic restart or similar device as prescribed by the American National Standards for Metal Cutting Saws, ANSI B11.10-1990 , section 5.2.3.4 that in the event of an interruption in the electrical supply, would prevent the saw from restarting automatically when power is restored. Abatement certification only is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
