Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing and multiple traumatic injuries: (a) Plant- Frequent inspections revealed maladjustment of the operating mechanism, hoist brakes, and oil leakage on the five ton crane in Bay B. These conditions were not corrected before the crane resumed operation. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to include, but not be limited to the following: (1) Conform to the American National Standard Institute B30.11- 1998 Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d)
