Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of a heavy piece of equipment falling on them or spilling its contents, such as hot oil on them: a) Kitchen - The floor under equipment such as, but not limited to the Bain Marie and the deep fryer was rotten and unable to support the weight of the equipment. On or about 3/17/03. ABATEMENT NOTE: One feasible means of abatement would be to replace the rotting floor with one that can support the kitchen equipment. NOTE: ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM See page 2, "Notification of Corrective Action" for instructions.
